She sure is cute

Liza didn't want me to take her picture this day. Someone put her shoes on the wrong feet but I won't name names.

We've had a great time this last week that Jordan has had off between classes. We only have this weekend and then it's back to school for Jordan! He'll have 2 classes and he'll begin work on his thesis.

Wednesday we went on a bike ride with Greg, Angie, and Ethan. Our intention was to ride to this park and let the kids play in the fountains, but when we got there the fountains were off. Ethan had a great time in the sprinklers that were watering the gardens though! Liza decided she didn't want to get wet.

Thursday, our neighbors Steve and Sarah came over for dinner with their 2 little girls. Liza helped me cook.

Last night we went to an air show type thing called Tattoo that the base was having just across the street from where we live. We walked over there with some friends and checked the place out for a little bit. There wasn't a whole lot to do there but Liza enjoyed playing with some of her friends. Later that night there were several fly overs and fireworks that we were able to see very well from our house.

Family Trip

This weekend we went took a little family vacation to Lake Eerie. On Saturday we went to Kelly's Island and rented a golf cart for a few hours. The island is only about 2 miles by 4 miles so we were able to drive around the whole thing a couple of times and just enjoy a relaxing day exploring. Saturday night we met up with Greg and Angie and stayed at Greg's parents' house where we put the kids to bed, made s'mores and talked around a fire in the backyard. Sunday we got an early start and went to Cedar Point! It's an amusement park considered (according to Wikipedia) the roller coaster capital of the world. We had a great time all day there and at Cedar Point's water park- Soak City. After getting dinner at a great pizza place and ice cream after that we headed home. We've spent today recovering from our weekend, but we had a great time!

Liza loved looking at the boats

This is the only picture I got from Cedar Point... I was just having too much fun to stop to get pictures! Angie is a lot better at that than I am though and she has more pictures on her blog here.

Here is a picture of Liza from today... I just can't believe how beat up her face is. Her bug bites still aren't completely healed up...

Tonight we had dinner at the Frey's house and really enjoyed ourselves. We had delicious chicken fajitas, s'mores for dessert and when the kids went to bed we played a game that we'd never played before. It was called Rail Barons and it was really fun.

Liza loved Ethan's boat.

Liza and Ethan

Look at our poor little girl's face! :-( The four spots on her cheek, one on the eyebrow, and one between the eyes are from mosquito bites in NC and the one on her forehead is from falling off of that slide in the background. When this picture was taken she hadn't gotten the fat lip from falling out of the boat yet...

Jordan showed Liza how to ride the broom.

Crazy Days

The last few days have seem to fly by. We got home from our trip to NC very late last night and the day before we spent some time with Jordan's Mom and Gramma at Cane Creek Park.

Liza liked the ducks. Shortly after this picture was taken, they flew off into the pond and scared her.

Eating some Cheerios and relaxing with Dad

We were very tired after finally making it home around 11:30 last night!

Today Liza and I spent the day by ourselves. Jordan went to South Webster, OH to see his dad and sisters who are there doing work on houses for Reach. While Jordan was away, Liza and I went to the park and then to Chuck E. Cheese for dinner! I forgot the camera and was pretty bummed about it on the way there. After chasing Liza around like a crazy woman at Chuck E. Cheese, I'm relieved that I didn't bring the camera... I probably would have dropped it.

Yesterday was Hannah's graduation. We had a great time watching her graduate and we had an enormous dinner to celebrate. I think I'm still full.... Today, Jordan's dad, Noah, Hannah, and Miriam all left VERY early in the morning. We've just been spending the day with his mom and we've had a great time. Jordan's gramma joined us and we had dinner at my parents' house. Our vacation is continuing to go well!

Congratulations Hannah!

With all the pictures we've been taking lately, I guess Liza decided she'd like to try it out too.

We tried to take some family pictures yesterday... this one gives you an idea of how difficult it was with Liza. (See Noah? Liza does like you!)

Here is our picture from today. I was hoping to show the bug bites on her face but it ended up being a good mother-daughter picture.

Reunited!

Jordan finally joined us today in NC. Somehow we didn't get a picture of the three of us together. After Jordan arrived we went and spent the day with his family. We're staying here at their house until Tuesday when we head back to Ohio. Liza had so much fun today- especially on the trampoline.

A Pool Outing

Today we went to the pool with Nana, Grandpa, Uncle Noah (Spike), Aunt Miriam, and Jennifer! Liza had a great time. We realized that pool time with a baby is much different than being at the pool without a baby but I think we had a good time regardless. It was a beautiful day.

Liza ate so many pretzels... she loved them. She also enjoyed passing out half-eaten soggy ones for others to enjoy!

Liza was so tired when we finally got home tonight for her to go to bed. She was staring off into space with the funniest look on her face when we pulled in the driveway. Unfortunately, she perked up a little bit when I pulled out the camera, but this was what I got:

We continue to enjoy our time in Charlotte. Today, Liza played Guitar Hero with her Aunt Miriam (yes, she really was singing) and Halo with her Grandaddy.... I'm pretty sure she just watched that one though.

You may wonder where I (Jordan) am this week, seeing that I am conspicuously absent from all of these fun pictures. I am stuck in Ohio alone. I didn't realize how alone I was until I came home the first day and I didn't even have Heidi to say hello to. It is a very empty house here.

This is my exam week, and Sarah thought it would be a good idea to leave while I was studying. While she was making those plans I did not expect it to be a big deal, but...she was right. I have lived on the computer for several days now, both at school and at home. I even had to go in on Saturday! Which isn't so bad, it's just highly unusual for me.

I have spent probably 100 hours putting together a big group paper. Once I turn that in, give a presentation on it, and then take one final exam on Wednesday, I will finally be done for the quarter. Yay!

Liza and I went to the pool today but I wasn't able to get any pictures of that. I brought the camera but I didn't feel comfortable turning my back on Liza or looking away for even a second. When I got home I noticed that I had left the memory card in my computer anyways.... yeah....

We played outside for a bit this evening after dinner. Here are some pictures in my parents' front yard.

Look at the curls!

Today was our last day at my grandparents' house. We left this morning but got these pictures beforehand.

Liza really enjoyed playing with her cousins. Here she is with her cousin Riley ("Roh roh")

Liza loves talking on her toy telephones. This was the first time I'd seen her use her hand to talk to whoever it is she's talking to on the plastic ones...

So yesterday was my first failed day... I know I know. So soon?

Here are two pictures of Liza from today. I'm not sure why Liza is glowing in the first one but I'm sure Jordan can teach me how to make sure the camera doesn't do that when we see each other again on Friday!

This is Liza in my grandparents' yard sitting on a statue they have in their garden.

Here's Liza with 2 of her 4 great grandmothers!

Long Day

We were in the car for a looong time today. Liza and I came to my grandparents' house in VA and we're having a great time so far. Here is a picture of Liza loving on her monkey about 2 hours into our 9 hour trip.
